Oiled oak
Oak wood is a hard, strong yet beautiful natural material that has been used for centuries to make the finest furniture. Each oak product has a slightly different look, colour and natural grain that gives it a unique character.
We treat the oak parts of our products with natural wax oil, based on linseed, sunflower and soybean oils. The oil part of the coating penetrates into the wood cells and thus protects it from the inside. The wax part stays on the surface of the wood and forms an elastic porous layer that protects the wood against normal contamination. The hard wax oil is short-term resistant to wine, beer, cola, coffee, tea, fruit juice, milk and water. To keep it looking beautiful at all times, we recommend wiping off any dirt quickly with a dry or slightly damp cloth.
Maintenance and cleaning:
- Normal dirt can be wiped off normally with a dry or slightly damp cloth
- For a more thorough cleaning and revival of the plate, we recommend using Osmo cleaner in sprays
- More resistant stains and permanent signs of use can always be removed by completely sanding down the oiled layer and recoating with hard wax oil.
Avoid using sharp tools or too hot pots/pots which can leave permanent marks on the oiled surface.
Location of oak wood products:
Oak wood is a natural material that senses and lives with its surroundings. If you want our oak products to last a long time, do not expose them to too much heat, cold, dryness, humidity or direct sunlight. Excessive exposure to these adverse effects can lead to shortening of the natural life span or cracking of the wood.
